We all need time off to relax, recharge and discover and do what we love. At Pinterest, we offer various options depending on the reason for your time away.
For salaried employees, we have a non-accrued vacation policy, which means we don’t accrue time off, and there isn’t a set number of hours of vacation time available. See full policy here.
Hourly employees receive 15 days of paid vacation per year, accruing 5 hours per pay period. Vacation hours are tracked on timesheets. See full policy here.
If you’re considering taking a vacation, notify your manager and peers, and agree upon time before taking off. Vacation should not be used in place of sick days or a leave of absence.
If you’re not feeling well, we encourage you to stay home, rest and get better! Pinterest provides sick time to be used for short term illnesses (including COVID-19) or to be taken as mental health days. See full policy here. Pinterest will also pay for public emergency leave, which includes any Covid-19 related reasons and leave as required under applicable local ordinance.
If your illness lasts more than 10 consecutive work days or you have an ongoing medical condition that caused you to miss 10 non-consecutive work days, please contact The Larkin Company, our leave administrator, to see if you’re eligible for a leave of absence: pinterestleaves@thelarkincompany.com. You can also complete this intake form to initiate with Larkin.
Salaried (exempt) employees should report sick days to sicktoday@pinterest.com with cc to manager.
Hourly (non-exempt) employees are provided with 10 sick days and should report sick days on their timesheets for manager approval.
Pinterest is here to support you should you need some time away to grieve a loss of someone close to you including a pregnancy loss. For more details, please visit the bereavement time off policy.

If you have concerns that you are being required to perform work on your leave, please contact peoplecare@.
