Lyra Learn

Learning and social interaction both help keep your mind limber and contribute to your mental health. Through Lyra Learn, Pinterest gives you access to unlimited on-demand online courses on a variety of topics, including live monthly well-being workshops taught by mental health professionals.

To listen and talk about mental health, diversity, inclusion or just what’s happening in the world, you can also take part in Gatherings. These are small, expert-led discussion groups on many topics of interest and importance.

Calm is a mental fitness app that helps you build resilience, improve focus through meditation and help you get more restful sleep. All Pinterest employees and their family members (yes, there is content for kids too) have a free subscription to Calm.

Bravely

Connect with a coach for a confidential conversation about your performance, growth, work relationships, or managing work responsibilities using Bravely. Sessions are held by phone and you can schedule them any time — before work, after work, or on weekends. Unlimited sessions are available to Pinterest employees! Financial

Life & Disability Insurance

Pinterest provides life and disability insurance to protect your income and provide financial relief to your dependents in the event of an accident or illness.

Life Insurance

Pinterest partners with Zurich to provide basic life insurance. In the case of death or total permanent disability, the plan coverage is 2x your base salary.

Accident Insurance

Regarding accidents, Pinterest works with XL Insurance Co to provide these benefits:

Death: The plan coverage is 4x your gross annual salary
Permanent Disability: The plan coverage is 5x your gross annual salary

These benefits have a maximum limit of €3,000,000 per person.

Permanent Disability Due to Sickness

Pinterest provides insurance for Permanent Disability due to sickness through Allianz. The plan coverage is 3x your gross annual salary.

Work/Life

New Hire Stipend

In your first paycheck you will receive a one-time stipend of $1,000 USD (or the local equivalent)  to assist with home office set up expenses. There is no need to expense purchases for this initial set up. This stipend is subject to all applicable local payroll taxes. Check out the policy here.

Family Benefits

Whether you have children, are expecting, or are thinking about adding to your family in the future, Pinterest supports you with a variety of family benefits.

Parental Leave

Pinterest provides 20 weeks of paid Parental Leave for parents to bond with a newborn or a newly adopted child. For either maternity or paternity leave, during those 20 weeks you receive full pay – minus any government benefits you may receive, to avoid duplication.

Gradual Return to Work

Returning to work after parental leave can be a big change, which is why we offer a gradual return to work period of four weeks to ensure you have the proper time to ramp up and re-engage in your work. This optional program allows you to return to work part-time, working 1-4 days a week with full pay. You may only take one (1) gradual return to work period per birth, adoption or foster care placement. If you choose to not take all 20 weeks continuously, you may choose which leave block you will use the gradual return to work period. If you would like to take a gradual return, this optional form may help you stay organized. Please align on your gradual return schedule at least 1 month before your return to work.

Due to business needs, in some cases, managers may be unable to accommodate your preferred schedule, subject to any accommodation requests provided for in accordance with medical documentation.

Fertility Benefits

Through Carrot Fertility, Pinterest offers inclusive fertility benefits for all paths to parenthood. You will be reimbursed up to the equivalent of $50,000 USD for eligible costs associated with fertility treatments. This amount is adjusted based on the local cost of care in all countries to ensure you have equitable access to these family benefits.

Vacation and Permission Hours

You receive 26 days of vacation a year. The amount of permission hours you receive each year will vary. Unused vacation days may be carried over to the next year and should be used within 18 months of the calendar year in which it was earned. 

Sick Time

If you’re not feeling well, we encourage you to stay home, rest and get better! You are provided with 10 days of paid sick time a year. Generally, up to ten unused sick days may be carried over to the next year and must be used within 18 months of the calendar year in which it was earned.

Permission Hours

You are entitled to 32 hours of permission hours a year. If you have 2 to 3 years of tenure you’re eligible to receive 60 permission hours, or 88 permission hours for 4+ years of tenure.

Bereavement Leave

Pinterest provides up to 20 days of bereavement leave to grieve to the loss of someone close to you, including pregnancy loss.

Family Care Leave

Employees are able to take up to 8 weeks of discretionary caregiver leave to care for a seriously ill family member or a child under the care of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Donation Matching and Volunteer Time

Pinterest is committed to building a culture of giving back to the communities we live and work in. To enable this, Pinterest provides 40 hours of annual paid volunteer time off for community engagement opportunities to inspire action and help those in need, and also provides $30/hour of volunteer time recorded to give back to the cause of your choice. In addition, Pinterest matches personal donations on a 1:1 ratio up to $1,000 USD (or local currency equivalent) per employee per calendar year made to Eligible Donation Matching Recipients through Pinterest Gives.
